Probably one that is best watched as far as punters are concerned, with some clues for the autumn perhaps the most profit to be made. However, if we are to have a flutter then Tim Easterby's Distant Times looks the one to be on, with Motu and Musical Lyrics others who take the eye. Distant Times has plenty of experience by comparison to most of these, having had three runs and shown steady improvement each time, culminating in a decent second from a poor draw over six furlongs at Newcastle last time. The yard does well with its two-year-olds here, so with that in mind and a decent draw to boot he looks the one to be on. Motu is sent up by John Dunlop, who also has a good record at the course. The Desert Style colt made an encouraging debut at Newmarket at the beginning of the month, running green early on, but getting the hang of things as the race progressed to finish a five and a half length fourth. With that experience under his belt plus a few weeks extra work at home he should be much better this time and could pose a very live threat to the selection. The same can be said of Musical Lyrics, who ran pretty green at Newcastle on debut and who is bound to have improved plenty for that outing. With Mark Johnston's yard holding their form well throughout the season it would be no surprise to see this filly get much closer this time and any market moves should be noted. However, experience is a good thing to have on your side in this sort of race and we will stick with Distant Times.
