In depth

Verdict

Mondain won the consolation race for the Northumberland Plate at Newcastle earlier this summer and finished runner-up over 2m in a tougher race at Ascot last week but is conceding plenty of weight to the unexposed three-year-old ZEEBAND (NAP). Roger Varian’s charge placed in novice company over 1m4f at Doncaster last time but is from a family packed with smart stayers and should improve further now handicapping. Rory And Me was placed over course and distance on his first start after wind surgery and can confirm running with Bolder Bob while Akamanto is preferred to Euro Implosion of the remainder.
