tracked leaders, ridden over 1f out, kept on one pace
made all, shaken up over 1f out, ran on
tracked winner, ridden and no impression over 1f out until stayed on towards finish
Another small field of juveniles and this one is even harder to call. PERMIAN gets a narrow vote as he only had to be shaken up to get back to winning ways with something to spare at Windsor, though Western Duke landed an enormous gamble at Doncaster and the extra furlong here won't be a problem. Fayez won over 6f here in June but has been largely disappointing since and is not as stoutly bred as the other two.
Fayez (IRE) 10-1 (9-6) Pulled hard, in touch, headway over 2f out, every chance approaching and throughout final furlong, kept on well, 3rd of 6, 1/4l behind Londinium (9-3) at Haydock 7f (4) gf in Aug.
Permian (IRE) 11-10fav (9-7) Made all, awkward on bend 5f out, shaken up and clear final furlong, very easily, unchallenged, won at Windsor 1m (4) gf in Aug beating Challow (8-9) by 4l, 5 ran.
Western Duke (IRE) 13-8fav (9-1) With leader, led over 2f out, pushed along and soon headed, regained lead inside final furlong, held on well, won at Doncaster 7f mdn stks (4) gd in Jul beating Trooper's Gold (8-13) by 3/4l, 12 ran.
