Verdict

COLORUS can build on an easy win last time and make it two on the bounce in a race where Mandurah, Kyzer Chief and Cheshire Rose also have claims. The pick has raced almost exclusively over the minimum trip recently and took advantage of a career low mark last time to easy score, albeit in a weak looking contest. That did come on the fibresand but he has some from on quick ground and while his mark rise of six pounds makes this tough a repeat performance would have him back in the winner's enclosure. Mandurah will have to concede weight all round here but his mark looks competitive enough and the ground should suit on his easiest assignment in a couple of starts. Kyzer Chief is yet to win but has a had a few near misses in recent efforts. The latest came in a similar contest off this mark and as long as he's fit after a break he can challenge again. Cheshire Rose is one win from two runs over course and distance and while his all weather campaign this winter was solid at best he returns to turf off a mark one pound better than his last win so he has to be respected. A competitive race to round things off where Colorus is the pick.
