Verdict

Choisan came good again over 1m6f at Musselburgh last week and carries a penalty as he steps up in trip. Naburn won over the same distance at Catterick but was well beaten in an amateurs race last time while Travel was tailed off at Doncaster having rattled up a hat-trick on the all-weather earlier. Jan Smuts finished just ahead of Longshadow when second at Redcar and makes more appeal than Sergeant Pink over today's trip. But PERFECT SUMMER is the least exposed and despite stepping up in distance on her return to action, she gets the vote to open her account for the Cecil yard.
