Verdict

This has been run twice and Paul Midgley has won both so Birkenhead, a recent Southwell winner and successful on fast going from this mark at York last summer, can go well. Soul Seeker is best on fast ground and is 1lb lower than when last successful but Mereside Angel looks best on good ground so could do with some rain. Nine-times winner BRIAN THE SNAIL, once rated 102, is on a long losing run but has dropped to a winnable mark as he showed at Hamilton and can get back on the winning trail. Neither Caribbean Sunset nor Albegone can be dismissed in a tight handicap.
