This is a competitive looking handicap in which we give the tentative vote to IRON VELVET with both Val C and Gillburg worth noting. The selection has kept improving with race experience and landed himself in the winners enclosure at Catterick last time out. He is now nine pounds higher in the weights as a result so further improvement will be required, but he is going the right way at present and will be worth staying on the right side of for the time being. Val C could be potentially well treated off his current mark. He was not beaten far in what looked like a competitive race at Newmarket last time out so any market moves should be noted. Gillburg is only three pounds higher since breaking his maiden tag at Hamilton. He looks more than capable of running well off his current mark and is sure to give his supporters a good run for their money. Iron Velvet comes from a yard that are doing well at present and can improve to win again.
