    Verdict

Westport, Mormeatmic and Making Music form the shortlist in another competitive handicap and the vote is given to Westport. The selection hails from a yard in flying form and he lost no caste in defeat last time when second behind Imperial Sword. On that evidence he should be up to taking this and he gets the confident vote. Mormeatmic won well at Carlisle last time but that was over the minimum trip and he has yet to win over anything other than 5f. Making Music was only a neck behind him in that Carlisle race and on these terms she should be capable of reversing those placings. The Thrifty Bear could go well at a price because although he was disappointing last time, he ran well for a long way at Ripon on his seasonal reappearance and he might be capable of filling one of the places. However, for the winner we will stick with Westport.
