Verdict

VICTOIRE DE LYPHAR completed a hat-trick of handicaps wins in the spring of last year but hasn't won since. He was conceding Layla's Hero 2lb when beaten half-a-length in a Beverley claimer last month, when Talent Scout was just behind, and the winner has to concede 10lb here. Ruth Carr's charge is taken to get back on the winning trail though King Torus has to be a real threat as he's the highest rated here and has been performing in far better company. Border Bandit was in tremendous form last summer but is another who has found winning difficult, though most of his races have been at a higher level. Mirsaale ran in a Listed contest at Newmarket in June but has been tilting at windmills for a long time.
