In depth

Verdict

Marmooq is less exposed than his rivals here but, along with Hurricane Coast, Mark Johnston's colt may want a softer surface and is not certain to stay this far either so preference is for Efidium. The selection has the beating of another of today's rivals Kaymich Perfecto on running behind Hula Bellew at Thirsk last month and has run well again in defeat since then. Proven over this trip and on fast ground, Neville Bycroft's gelding looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to resume winning ways. Bond Diamond would have solid claims on the form of his effort in Hula Bellew's race at Thirsk but has disappointed since then, while Born For Diamonds has given little cause for optimism this term and a safer bet looks to be Efidium.
