In depth

Verdict

CAPE VICTORY steps into handicap company off the back of a maiden victory at Musselburgh. He’s on an upward curve and his overall form suggests he should have the measure of these off a mark of 80. Production was never going the pace over 7f at Doncaster last time and this is a more suitable test for Richard Hannon’s gelding. Highwaygrey is generally progressive and may not have stayed over a longer trip last time at Haydock with the lightly-raced maiden Itchingham Loft possibly the pick of the remainder.
