BULLDOG SPIRIT, by Churchill out of a Ribblesdale winner, was very cheaply bought and soon repaid the outlay when beating three rivals at Newcastle. He'll need to improve against these rivals but has every chance of doing so. Cavern Club couldn't get close to a more experienced rival at Yarmouth but stayed on very strongly while Oh So Charming made an encouraging start at Thirsk and has to be respected. Lerwick started favourite at Pontefract after a promising debut and though unable to contain Dora Milaje the winner was receiving 7lb. Adoration is an interesting newcomer being out of a mare who has produced winners with her first three foals.
