        Verdict

        Shine On Brendan was very well backed in last week’s Leger Legends race at Doncaster but never looked like winning. He had won five times previously this year, however, so can’t be ignored. WESTERN STARS (NAP) comfortably beat Cosmos Raj at Pontefract in June and remains unexposed. Ed Dunlop’s three-year-old could be the answer to this ahead of Forgivable, who hasn’t been disgraced in stronger company since getting off the mark here in July. Tim Easterby’s charge finished ahead of Rich King at Haydock last month and the pair meet on the same terms.
