KING OF COMEDY sets a high standard after an impressive debut on fast going at Sandown in July. It's a surprise that he hasn't been seen since and the ground will be very much softer though he's difficult to oppose, especially as the placed horses have won four times between them. Asad made a promising start over a mile on soft ground at Windsor where he only faded in the closing stages but Be Proud is well exposed and has changed stables. Irreverent made major progress from his debut to chase home Alfurat River here in September but Victory Day could provide the main threat after a very encouraging debut at Yarmouth where he looked as though today's ground would prove ideal. Simon Crisford has had a fine campaign and Turntable is by Pivotal out of a mare who won between 6f and a mile so is one to note.
