Sir Henry Cecil runs two with Mixora looking first choice ahead of the newcomer Variety Show. The former disappointed when last seen at Yarmouth in October but this longer trip is expected to bring improvement. Breeding also suggests OUTBACK will relish a greater test of stamina. He went close at Gowran last year for David Wachman and wasn't beaten far when sent off favourite at Southwell on his first start for Ann Duffield. He can make the most of his fitness advantage here and come out best as Graceful Act and Airmyles are hard to fancy.
Airmyles 25-1 (9-13) Steadied start, in rear, ridden 3f out, soon weakened, 9th of 11, 28l behind Kathlatino (9-8) at Redcar 1m mdn auc stks (6) gd in May.
Graceful Act 16-1 (9-0) Held up in touch, ridden over 2f out, weakened over 1f out, last of 7, 20l behind Scatter Dice (8-6) at Redcar 1m 2f fll hcp (5) gf in Apr.
Outback (IRE) 13-8fav (9-3) Led, ridden and headed over 2qf out, still every chance over 1f out, stayed on near finish, 4th of 12, 1 1/4l behind Lanarkshire (9-3) at Southwell 1m 3yo mdn stks (5) fbs in Mar.
Mixora (USA) 13-2 (9-0) Slowly away, held up behind, pushed along over 2f out, never dangerous, 10th of 13, 9l behind Kailani (9-0) at Yarmouth 1m 2yo stks (5) gd in Oct.
Variety Show (IRE) Royal Applause filly out of Sensasse.
