Anything from Sir Mark Prescott's yard starting off from the bottom of a handicap and stepping up in trip has to be respected and that's certainly the case with Turning Gold, who showed little in maidens over 7f. Kuraka is at the other end of the handicap and showed plenty of potential in his first season though all three runs were on ground with some give. Katebird completed a double in minor handicaps before finding Class 4 company beyond her at Newmarket but RONNIE THE ROOSTER, who completed a double at Newcastle in the autumn, bounced back with a very good run at Pontefract and that should be good enough for this. Cliff Bay has been staying on over a mile on the all-weather so the extra furlong will suit and he's at the right end of the handicap. Teodoro makes his handicap debut after just three runs and has some scope.
