Xclaim had ran well in decent ground before his recent win in soft going at Pontefract and should be thereabouts again. Preference goes to KALK BAY, however, as he finished a close-up fifth at Doncaster last time in much better company than this and a repeat effort should bring an end to his long losing run. Al Furat has lost his way since scoring over a shorter trip here in June and C&D winner Law To Himself also arrives out of sorts.
