This is a low-grade handicap where none of the runners have won over the course or distance. LIKE A DEMON came close to losing his maiden tag when just failing to outpace The Irregular over slightly further at Clonmel. He'd run really well here on his previous start almost a year earlier so looks to be heading in the right direction and a mark of 89 looks exploitable. Rapid Fritz wasn't far behind at Clonmel but had every chance and is much more exposed. Wee Tiger had been chasing without much luck before stepping up to 2m4f over timber at Fairyhouse and producing his best run. He should get into the action over this shorter trip while Emerald Honours didn't quite last out over 2m4f in the summer and is another likely to do better here.
