In depth

Verdict

Bois De Clamart has won twice over fences but is 0-7 over hurdles. The third and fourth have both franked the form of Bold Getaway’s win at Limerick and a useful claimer takes off 7lb. Captain Conby beat a big field here in November and still had every chance when falling two out in a return visit in a handicap on New Year’s Eve but STUMPTOWN could be the value. He didn’t really get the run of the race at Leopardstown last month having looked a useful recruit at Limerick in the autumn. The third that day, Top Bandit, has since rattled up a hat-trick and is now rated 135.
