In depth

Verdict

Henry De Bromhead holds a very strong hand here with the experienced Moon Over Germany, a very easy winner of the Grade 3 Red Rum Handicap at Aintree in April and not suited by 2m4f at Tipperary last time, and Notebook. The latter jumped really well and made an impressive debut over fences over the track and trip though runner-up ECLAIR DE BEAUFEU (NAP) is taken to reverse the places as he showed himself much better suited by testing conditions at Wexford where he won very easily. Mount Pelier, a progressive hurdler, looked like an old hand over his fences at Galway and looks certain to give a good account as does Daly Tiger, a debut winner over fences before having to be pulled up with a slipped saddle on his next start then finding 2m4f beyond him in a Cork Grade 3.
