In depth

Verdict

COQOLINO easily won a point on his debut but has been a short-priced beaten favourite in a Gowran bumper and a Galway maiden hurdle. He should be at his peak now and the longer trip will suit though he faces no easy task against his former stablemate Fighter Allen. A winning bumper in France, the latter was thrust into Grade 2 company on his hurdling debut for Gordon Elliott but wasn't disgraced and is now with Willie Mullins. Getaway Pat landed a Dungarvan point in good style though has a long absence to overcome but Idas Boy, another winner between the flags, has performed with credit in both bumper starts and should do even better over hurdles.
