Willie Mullins had several entries at the early stage and relies on River Run, who had four unsuccessful runs on the Flat in France last year. Alpha Des Obeaux won a bumper by 20l in March and started odds on for his hurdling debut at Cork but found Vote Of Confidence just too quick and the step up in trip will be in his favour. Altiepix won a point by a distance in February and attracted good support on his bumper debut at Gowran the following month but pulled up and that can't have been his form. Bursleden didn't show much on the Flat but made a bright start over timber behind Whipper's Boy at Wexford and the winner has a chance earlier in the day. Winning bumper CHAMPOLEON (NAP) was run out of it by Better Back Bob at Down Royal a fortnight ago but was conceding the winner 8lb and it was probably a very good performance so he can go one better.
