      Verdict

      Newmarket trainers have won eight out of the last ten and the sequence will be continued as all five entries are from Headquarters. Sir Michael Stoute has won it twice in that period and though PERFECT GLANCE has a bit to find she looked quite a nice prospect when placed over a mile at Kempton and her pedigree is all about middle-distances. Fallen For A Star is the obvious threat after a fine run in the Wood Ditton where he pulled his way to the front and only succumbed in the closing stages. Making Shapes was an expensive purchase and though unfancied on his debut at Nottingham in November he caught the eye and will have benefited from the experience. Bracken Brae never showed on her debut at Newmarket and Glan Y Gors will need to be useful to make a winning start.
