    Verdict

    HAVANA STAR (NAP) showed his inexperience at Beverley with a tardy start but picked-up nicely in the closing stages to make a winning debut. Kevin Ryan’s colt will know more here and is preferred to the other penalised runners, Inviolable Spirit and Jasi. The latter pair were both beaten last time having made winning starts at Redcar and Southwell respectively and Rufus King may improve past that pair on the back of a modest debut at Newcastle.

    Inviolable Spirit (IRE) 3-1 (8-11) Chased leading trio on inside, switched right halfway, ridden and went modest 3rd over 1f out, 3rd of 5, 6 1/4l behind Frozen Angel (8-11) at Ascot 5f stks (2) gf in May.

    Rufus King 25-1 (9-2) Prominent, ridden disputing 2nd over 1f out, kept on same pace inside final furlong, lost 3rd close home, 4th of 13, 5l behind Rajasinghe (9-2) at Newcastle 6f stks (4) pol in May.
