A cracking little contest that should prove to be a very informative affair. However, it is hard to avoid the claims of Checkit after he scored so convincingly at Nottingham last time. He took the step up to six furlongs in his stride and made good use of his rails position to score in good style. He picks up just a 2lb penalty for that success and will be hard to beat if he is in a similar mood. Logistical has shaped up well since finishing fourth in the Brocklesby and should relish the step up in trip. His 4lb penalty for landing a maiden at Bath earlier in the month will make life a little tougher here, but he is still on an upwards curve and could give Checkit the most to do. Sanbenito is another to consider now he is stepped up in trip and his course experience should cast him in a good light. Major Cavelli returns from a short break after winning a competitive maiden at Newmarket in April but may be seen to better effect when tackling a lot further than this.
