Wise Owl looks to have shown us enough to be able to take this opener, with Lady Doris Watts, Zonic and Baileys Honour others to consider. The selection put up a pleasing debut when second to Blues And Royals in a York maiden in June, before being beaten seven lengths into fourth at Newmarket last month. However, that latter contest looked a decent maiden, and with the runner-up having come out and won since it should not put us off giving Wise Owl a third chance to get off the mark. By Danehill, this trip should be spot on and so we will stick with him. Another to have had two previous starts is Zonic, the mount of Kieren Fallon. The Zafonic filly drops back to six furlongs after an abortive attempt over seven, and has the benefit of Fallon in the saddle for the first time in public. With that in mind we anticipate some improvement over this stiff six, but she has a fair bit to find on form so far and is passed over. The filly Baileys Honour should improve over a fair bit further than this and looks the weaker of Mark Johnston's pair, but Lady Doris Watts is a half-sister to Funfair Wane and could be anything, although Mick Channon's yard could perhaps be in a shade better form. All things considered, we take Wise Owl to fly in.
