With rain around in West Yorkshire the going may well have turned against the good ground performers, but all conditions come alike to Namir, who gets our vote from a plumb draw, ahead of Catch The Cat, Coranglais and Whinhill House. The selection is the only course and distance winner in this field, has a stall 3 berth, and has the ability to get through soft ground. Those opposing will say that he is too high in the weights and that is of some concern, but there is nothing in opposition that stands out and so we will side with him. Catch The Cat was a winner at Hamilton over this trip last time. He doesn't score too often and the penalty he carries here should make this much tougher, especially as he doesn't relish softer conditions. Coranglais is now on a very handy mark after a lengthy losing run. He has not been too far away of late and has a clear chance here now if he can get through the ground. Of the others, Whinhill House is on the slide having failed to win for over a year, and he has plummeted through the weights as a result. He has his best chance since that success of going in again, but he is not consistent and you are taking risks if you side with him. But Namir can make a rare Roy Bowring raid on Pontefract pay off with another win.
