      Verdict

      Mascat is almost guaranteed to run his race again and has to go on the shortlist but El Ghazwani is undoubtedly better on Polytrack and also has ground to make up on Homespin on recent Chelmsford running. Gift Of Kings opened his account at Newcastle at the start of the month but had been well beaten off similar marks to today’s at Leicester and Doncaster earlier. Tim Easterby sent out last year’s winner and HIGHWAYGREY (NAP) is 3-3 over course and distance this season. Easier going has been a legitimate excuse the last twice and the four-year-old can continue his love affair with the track.
