In depth

Verdict

The four horses with experience all raced at Newcastle recently with Fircombe Hall preferred to Freak Out on last week’s debut. Lockdown and LOST MY SOCK took part in separate divisions of the same maiden at the start of the month when both were slowly away. The former should finish closer today but the latter caught the eye with a late rally to finish third and Tim Easterby’s colt gets the vote with normal progress. Escape Route, Better By Far and Zaman Jameel are newcomers representing powerful northern yards and should be noted in the betting.
