In depth

Verdict

Ching Ching Lor defied a 4lb rise to land a double with a victory at Wolverhampton but has been raised 8lb this time. Edgar Allan Poe carries 6lb extra for scoring in soft going at Hamilton while Golconda Prince could only manage third when sent off favourite at Nottingham. Kilbaha Lady has won over 7f and attempts this longer trip for the first time, as does MONT ROYAL. The latter caught the eye staying on strongly to finish a close-up fourth at Thirsk and this extra furlong should suit Ollie Pears’ colt on that evidence.
