Almagest scored over 2m at Ripon under Danny Tudhope in August but the jockey prefers stablemate Repeater, which suggests a return to form is expected from the latter. He's weighted to go close on today's terms but so is STATUTORY. The Godolphin charge has been competing in decent handicaps over 2m without success and is also preferred to Alwilda, well beaten in pattern company of late. The latter's stable companion Big Thunder has a bit to find with the selection on earlier running and the remainder have it all to do at the weights.
