In depth

Verdict

Alpha Cru completed a course and distance double last summer but hasn't been in that kind of form nor has Perfect Swiss, who has a similar track record having won here twice from three starts. Spy won a handicap at this level at Wolverhampton then followed three moderate efforts in slightly higher grade by scoring with plenty in hand at Hamilton a week ago for which he's penalised. End Zone was well beaten in a Class 4 at Carlisle after winning at this level there while Diamond Haze' two victories have come in lower grade. SOLAR JOE has only had five starts and his second to Irish Lincolnshire winner Raadobarg at Thirsk last May would be too good for these. He made an encouraging reappearance after a long absence at York and can start making up for lost time.
