A minefield for punters, but Donnas Double, Field Spark, Danebank, Lazzaz and Heathyards Pride would go on the shortlist, with Donnas Double marginally preferred. Lazzaz comes here in obviously good heart, and is on a hat trick after wins at Warwick on his last two starts. However, this is almost certainly a tougher race and off a four pounds higher mark he may be worth opposing. A similar remark applies to Heathyards Pride, who won a moderate contest at Warwick last time but may struggle to follow up from a three pounds higher mark. A better prospect could be Field Spark, a winner at Leicester earlier in the year who has now slipped back to a winning mark, and the booking of Paul Hanagan catches the eye. Danebank was disappointing at Haydock last time but had some progressive form before that and should not be discounted, but Donnas Double just gets the tentative vote. Don Eddy's nine-year-old faced a stiff task at the weights when second to Yenaled in a claimer at Musselburgh last time and in theory should have a better chance today. A genuine, well-handicapped hold up performer, Donnas Double handles any ground and should be the best value in this open-looking contest.
