Verdict

At the age of 10, Sailor's Sovereign is still a maiden but he has gone close over this trip at Cartmel on his last two starts and, 2lb lower now than in his latest outing, must have every chance of recording a belated success today. But we'll oppose him with RUN TO FLY, who has dropped 8lb since finishing fourth at Chepstow. He was still beaten a long way that day but that run was a big improvement on previous efforts this season and he did go close off his old mark at Ffos Las in the spring. Goring Two is still unexposed over fences and makes more appeal than either Oscar The Myth or Kaycee at the weights.
