ONE CORNETTO proved that he was very well handicapped in the week and can strike again while the iron is hot; Prince Louis and Jades Double may emerge as the chief threats. The selection missed 2008 and was entitled to need his first run for a new yard in November and he showed the benefit of that outing when making a mockery of his current mark at Lingfield in the week. He was racing from 91 that day having been as high as 132 earlier in his career so the only doubt is whether the run will come too soon for him but connections are unlikely to take too many chances. They also appear to have found a pretty soft race for him as Prince Louis is one of few in the race that are coming into the contest on the back of a decent run. That was his first start over fences and his first run for Charlie Mann and he should win races but may have to play the bridesmaid here. Jades Double has been struggling for form but is having her first run over fences for a yard that's enjoying a fine season and she has claims on the pick of her efforts so it will be interesting to see what the market makes of her chance. Maximix hasn't done a great deal over fences yet but could find a race in this sort of grade, The Hardy Boy is well enough handicapped to feature, Stop The Show may improve for blinkers and Abbey Dore is worth a cautionary check on his chase bow but this should be one more win for One Cornetto.
