Hawk's Landing will take all the beating and is a confident choice ahead of Eljay's Boy, with the rest playing for a place only. A bumper winner on his first start for the stable at Kempton in January, Jonjo O' Neill's six-year-old won with a ton in hand on his hurdles debut at Stratford three weeks ago, despite the official margin being described as a neck. Take no notice of that, as Liam Cooper was 'taking the Michael' on the run-in. Still a big baby, Hawk's Landing could be good enough to carry the colours of J P McManus at the Cheltenham Festival if all goes to plan, and he should take another step here. Only Eljay's Boy appears to hold any threat at all based on a couple of promising efforts last term, but the rest have nothing to recommend them. He will be a short price, but Hawk's Landing is hard to ignore.
