In depth

Verdict

MR PUMBLECHOOK stands out a weak contest having placed at Bangor before finding one too good at Newbury with the remainder nowhere. Alan King's charge should be opening his account with a clear round. A runner-up in a bumper, Viva Vittoria made only a modest start over hurdles at Chepstow while Eclair De Guye ran well for a long way at Doncaster before a bad blunder knocked the stuffing out of him. Soarlikeaneagle, Three In One and Witches Glen have all placed between the flags and the latter debuts over timber today
