With Tim Vaughan's horses in such good form, Finnegan Paddy looks certain to start a very short-priced favourite but winning an Irish point-to-point at Monksgrange in testing ground wouldn't be an ideal preparation for a bumper on fast going. He may be worth taking on but Ballyturn Boy has been beaten a long way in both starts and Landenstown Lad was tailed off on his debut over the C&D in March. MAD GEORGE is much more likely to be suited by this than any of his rivals as he's by High Chaparral out of a half-sister to St Leger winner Scorpion. Whether he'll be good enough is another matter but any support for him should be heeded.
