Robert Alner's River Quoile has some useful form ton his name from Ireland and the son of Terimon is fancied to have too many guns for Hurlers Cross, Radcliffe and Poynton Henry. The selection - a former inmate of Michael Cunningham - was in the process of running a good race when he came down on his debut on these shores in the Royal Artillery Gold Cup at Sandown last month, however, he came out of that race unscathed to finish a close up forth in Novice company at Kempton at the start of this month. That effort was solid enough to give him sound claims at this level and, as the most experienced runner in the field, River Quoile is the one to beat here. Radcliffe is capable of posing them all a few problems if the ground is not too testing, but his overall profile suggests that he too may find our hope too determined to get past near the finish. Hurlers Cross and Poynton Henry also have improvement to find and also passed over in favour of River Quoile today.
