In depth

Verdict

Papillon De Iena, Idiome and Salinas look the trio to concentrate upon and we are with the first named. Although a plater in all but name, he is a workmanlike individual and with the shorter trip likely to play to his strengths, he might be able to nick it at a price. The useful Aaron Coleman is able to take a valuable 7lbs off. Idiome would have a serious chance if able to produce some of his old hurdling form. Paul Webber can have them fit from absence so the market is watched. Salinas doesn't win that often but as the class element in this race, he will be with plenty of followers today. Carly Bay finished ahead of Najca De Thaix when the pair met over hurdles. There is every chance that the pair will finish in the same positions over the larger obstacles. Papillon De Iena is likely to be a fair price against stronger opposition than he normally faces and we are prepared to take the chance.
