Verdict

Brukirk Lass ran on strongly up the Towcester hill to make a winning debut but faces some interesting newcomers in the shape of Hollow Star, Fabulous Fred, RUSSIAN SONG and Ashleys Lad whilst Priors Coppice has shown a fair degree of form. The Tizzard runner is the token pick on the grounds that he may start at a bigger price than those from bigger yards. However, the Tizzards do enjoy some success in these contests and Russian Song is a half-brother to the useful Jokers Legacy who won two bumpers. Hollow Star is an Irish point winner who made 70,000 gns when going through the ring and it would obviously be no surprise to see him go well. Noel Chance has a decent pedigree in these events and Fabulous Fred found only one too strong on his sole start between the flags in Ireland and Richard Johnson has a decent strike rate aboard his horses. Priors Coppice has run well on both starts but is vulnerable to an above average sort and may have to settle for a minor role along with Brukirk Lass. The market should be useful and we'll be hoping that it speaks in favour of Russian Song.
