This course suits True Temper and she is forwarded as the one to be on here; Algenon - a fortunate winner last time out - is respected as a threat, while Graham Lee's booking for Mister Magnum is interesting and, from a featherweight, the nine-year-old cannot be ruled out. Lee has a good record when riding for Peter Monteith and a bold effort would come as no surprise. Algenon got off the mark over fences at first time of asking, but was very fortunate to do so as Vanilla Man had the race in safe keeping until he fell at the last at Newton Abbot. Still, Phillip Hobbs' charge did little wrong himself and has to merit respect now that he has proved he can jump a fence in public. This a long way to come for him to gain experience, as a market move would be noteworthy to pay for the travelling expenses. However, True Temper knows this course well and, as she seems to have been revitalised by racing in points and Hunter chases, she looks worth persevering with whilst she has her mind on the job.
