Verdict

MUMBLES HEAD has four course wins to his name including the 2012 Perth Gold Cup. Peter Bowen is enjoying his usual prolific summer and it wouldn't surprise to see the 12-y-o dispatch younger rivals here as he's 1lb less than his last winning mark and gets the vote in the hope that the fires are still burning brightly. Call Box was a good second here last time behind Malin Bay over timber and will be a threat if repeating that level back over fences but he hasn't been over the larger obstacles since October 2011 and that has to be a concern. Dj Milan was a fair third on his chasing debut behind Kian's Delight but now steps into tougher handicap grade early in his education so Owen Glendower looks the prime danger to the selection. He ran really well after over a year off at Market Rasen and has every chance here if not subject to the 'bounce.'
