In depth

Verdict

Pete's inability to furnish an end product must be frustrating for connections as Barry Murtagh's charge again travelled strongly for much of the trip at Uttoxeter last Sunday. He's also worth opposing in races of this nature and is taken on here with DESOLAIT. Nigel Twiston-Davies rarely leaves Perth empty-handed and his strapping mare, successful at Hexham on her latest start, may have been let in lightly here. Manger Hanagment should make a bold bid to go one better than at Ballinrobe, while Dark Energy improved on his Uttoxeter win when third at Hereford 11 days ago. They look a better bet than Cartmel runner-up Castletown Boy in this grade.
