In depth

Verdict

A tricky finale with several appearing to hold decent claims. The hat-trick seeking Dunowen Point and Ballinrobe winner South Wing both carry penalties, but the latter's stablemate Al Dafa could be interesting if his run at Kilbeggan has blown away a few cobwebs. Spa Wells is a previous C&D winner and has only found one too good in his last two starts at Punchestown and Clonmel, but Suprise Vendor has been well beaten in two runs on the Flat since winning at Sedgefield and Kai Broon looks to be in the handicapper's grip now. Hexham winner Mavalenta could be improving but GRAND DIAMOND returns to hurdles on a very fair mark and wasn't beaten far on the level at Newcastle earlier this month - he could represent a bit of value in this big field.
