The Wise One went up 8lb after opening his account at Musselburgh so others are preferred today. Veteran Bescot Springs has been enjoying something of a revival and his rider claims 7lb. Late Date is still a maiden under Rules but stepping up to 3m should suit the winning pointer and he makes more appeal than one-paced chaser Heart O Annandale. Nigel Twiston-Davies has won three of the last nine renewals and teamed up successfully last year with Zac Baker so Double Court goes on the short-list but DOKTOR GLAZ is just preferred. Though beaten last time at Carlisle, the latter’s future definitely lies over fences but he did score over the smaller obstacles at Wetherby last month and is only 3lb higher.
