South O'The Border can land the opener at the expense of Modicum and Smart Street. The selection has travelled a long way from an in form yard. He was a fair performer on the flat winning five times and landed first prize on his first attempt over hurdles at Taunton. Since then though he has struggled a little in very soft conditions. The conditions here though should suit and if able to produce his best he is the one they all have to beat. Modicum has performed well all winter and eventually got his head in front at Mussleburgh in Febuary. He was a good second to Mendo at Ascot last time out and should be followed in the betting market. Smart Street is the other to note. Having won two in the autumn he caught the eye when second to Young Albert at Kelso last time out on his return and should strip fitter. But for the winner we return to South O'The Border
