In depth

Verdict

Intriguing to see a novice chaser head the weights for a leading northern handicap such as this, especially having only had two runs over fences. Indeed, Get Out The Gate has only landed a couple of small-field chases and beaten a total of five opponents, yet is rated 142 by the assessor which appears harsh. Hopefully, he'll give a really good account but it's a tough ask against seasoned chasers. PSYCHEDELIC ROCK has taken well enough to fences and probably came up against an improving sort when trying to give 5lb to Darcy Ward at Worcester. He'll handle any further softening of conditions and should give a good account off a mark of 137, although there is an admitted concern about the trip. Of the more established brigade, Red Giant, Indian Temple and Chidswell make most appeal in a wide-open contest.
