In depth

Verdict

Largy Girl ran lamentably in a mares’ event at Carlisle but her stable won this race last year and they clearly fancy their chances of nicking what appears to be a fairly ordinary renewal. BINGO CONTI burned a few fingers on his first start for Gordon Elliott, having performed with promise against better opposition when with Colm Murphy, but the booking of the champion jockey appears very much a positive. Of the remainder, Colonel Forster has a pedigree that has far more speed than most in this race and with his trainer saddling a recent winner, he cannot be dismissed in a race that won’t take much winning.
