Verdict

This is always a competitive contest and Beeves must have a good chance of following up last year's success in this race off a 4lb higher mark. He has only been seen three times since and has presumably been laid out for a repeat performance - he has his conditions once more and is a leading contender. Looking Well's form figures look dire but he is still a chaser of some potential and Brian Hughes is booked while Takingrisks has a respectable each-way shout for the same yard. MARTILOO is in here off a fearherweight on the back of two smooth victories on good ground at Ayr and Aintree. He has never gone further than 2m4f before but he's an easy traveller through his races and, if he is going to get the trip, it will be on a track like this.
